Time .. Tid
Unless a prediction for specific technology conditions a decade or more from now seems unbelievable, I assume the person making the prediction really hasn’t thought about change much at all.

I agree with Gruber on this one. I think Flash is a sinking ship. As a Mac owner, I’m pleased. The only time I recall really having problems with the Mac is when that awful flash plugin horks up my browser.
Sleep
Angry about not getting to play hockey tonight. Too angry. Must not be the only thing that’s pissing me off. I’m probably going to have a short fuse the rest of the week. Blech.
I agree: Joe Hewitt on iPad →
Most of the iPad reactions I’ve read have been negative, but I have been completely satisfied with what Apple announced. iPad is exactly the product I’ve been wishing for ever since I…

Why I Feel Like a Fraud
You dismiss complements, awards, and positive reinforcement as “no big deal.”
You are crushed by mild, constructive criticism.
You believe you’re not as smart/talented/capable as other people think you are.
You worry others will discover you’re not as smart/talented/capable as they think you are.
You think other people with similar jobs are more “adult”...

Climate Change Authority Admits Mistake
The mistake has called into question the credibility of the IPCC, which has been considered an authoritative source for information about climate change because of its policy of carefully reviewing and analyzing hundreds and even thousands of published, peer-reviewed scientific studies. But the scientists who uncovered the error say that the mistake, and the reliance on news reports and...

Blocked
So, I still haven’t started my little experiment with daily writing. It’s really not much - just a commitment to brief commentary on things that interest me. I have a big stack of items on Instapaper ready to go. This shouldn’t be too hard. My only goal is exercise; I have no illusions that any else would find what I write interesting or useful. C’mon man, just do it.

brycedotvc:
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time on planes this week and as a result have had a chance to catch up on a few books that I’ve been meaning to read. In my stack for this trip (yes, stack, I actually carry real books in a real bag) was one I’ve been hearing great reviews and implementations of called 4 Steps to the Epiphany by Steve Blank. Admittedly, its a fairly dry read so I’ve...
Real handcrafted oatmeal
I think I’m lacking a sense of purpose.
Winter in Minnesota
Why certainly, Xcel Energy, I’d be happy to pay you the GDP of a third world country for last month’s heat. It’s that or die after all.
Too many services
I have too many services. Tumblr, Posterous, extendr, my own site, identica, twitter, friendfeed, facebook, and several others I can’t remember right now. So far, twitter seems to be the easiest to keep up with… commenting, reading, etc. But, the quality isn’t there. I have a few conversations, but usually it’s just quips.
I have an experiment I want to try — nothing...
iPad thoughts
A few quick thoughts (not all very well thought out, or written) on the iPad:
Extremely slick, consumer-focused device.
It’s a media consumer device, plus.
People who work on computers daily won’t “get it” right away.
I would recommend this for my mom without thinking twice
My wife would probably prefer it to our iMac. (Apart from flash, she likes flash games for a...
